We were approached by LOBO to create a package for 'something special' they had been working on, we were excited!
As we expect from LOBO it was something different and unique – a small batch, hand crafted, Australian Apple Brandy in the traditions of French Calvados. Double distilled, from LOBO Adelaide Hills apple cider. Sophisticated, balanced, harmonious, a complex spirit.
Inspired, the drink itself is the essence of the fruit. Something which LOBO lovingly grow in their orchards with dedication and passion.
The connection lies with prose by WB Yeats;
Though I am old with wandering,
Through hollow lands and hilly lands,
I will find out where she has gone,
And kiss her lips and take her hands;
And walk among long dappled grass,
And pluck till time and times are done
The silver apples of the moon,
The golden apples of the sun.
YB Yeats, 1899
Used as inspiration, together with artist and illustrator Mar Hernández we created this package design to evoke LOBO's search for the unattainable, the 'golden apple', crafting perfection.
